Shari'ah Compliance
Islamic finance is fundamentally based on three pillars:
1- Risk-sharing between parties to ensure justice.
2- Transactions being a real reflection of the economy by linking them to tangible assets and actual services away from speculation.
3- Compliance with Shari’ah rules in all activities to ensure ethical and legal integrity.
Consequently, Shari’ah compliance means managing funds and investments according to the principles of Islamic Law, which prohibit usury, gambling, and excessive uncertainty. That’s because money in Islam is not viewed as an end in itself, but rather as a tool serving the objectives (Maqasid) of Shari’ah.
Why Choose Shari'ah Compliance?
Islamic finance derives its strength from being an act of obedience to Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala (ﷻ) and a response to His commands; a muslim views this commitment as a safeguard for their faith and a source of blessing in their wealth. While traditional systems focus on material profit, Shari’ah places piety and honesty at the forefront. This approach also reinforces the principles of solidarity, honesty, and avoiding the wrongful consumption of people's wealth, based on the Prophet’s (ﷺ )saying: “A Muslim is the brother of another Muslim. So he should neither oppress him nor hand him over to an oppressor” and his saying regarding the encouragement of pure earning: “Allah is good and accepts only what is good”. When a person commits to Halal earnings, it becomes a cause for blessing in their provision, allowing a small amount of wealth to satisfy great needs, as Allah says:
" يَمْحَقُ اللَّهُ الرِّبَا وَيُرْبِي الصَّدَقَات"
Thus, choosing Shari’ah compliance is a means to attain the blessings of Allah Subhanahu wa taaala(ﷻ)and a tool to achieve a balance between prospering on earth and winning in the hereafter.
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Man's feet will not move on the Day of Resurrection before he is asked about his life, how did he consume it, his knowledge, what did he do with it, his wealth, how did he earn it and how did he dispose of it, and about his body, how did he wear it out.”
(At-Tirmidhi)
"Allah destroys interest and gives increase for charities."
